Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Varshith Hegde (“Lumina”, “we”, “us”) for the Lumina app and this website. By creating an account or using Lumina, you agree to them.
The app
Lumina helps you study with flashcards generated from a topic or from text you provide. Features may change as the app grows. We may update, pause, or stop parts of the service.
Your account
You must provide a valid email and keep your password to yourself. Confirm your email when asked. You are responsible for activity on your account. Contact us if you think someone else is using it.
Your content
You keep the rights to topics, notes, and files you use in Lumina. You give us permission to process that material so we can generate cards, store your decks, and run the app. Do not upload material you do not have the right to use.
AI-generated cards
Cards are produced by an AI model. They can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Lumina is a study aid, not a teacher, exam, or professional advice. Check important facts before you rely on them.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- try to break, overload, or scan the app or API
- share someone else’s account
- use Lumina to generate harmful, illegal, or infringing content
- send personal secrets or other people’s private data to generate cards
- resell access to the generation service
Availability
We aim to keep Lumina working, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Generation depends on third-party AI and hosting services.
Disclaimer
Lumina is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Lumina is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost study time, grades, or data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Lumina in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero if the app is free).
Termination
You may stop using Lumina at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or harms the service. You can ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
